  • Senior Marketing Manager

    The post holder will support the Head of Sales and Marketing in the provision, management and delivery of a fully integrated marketing and communications strategy across the ‘Group’ (The Workforce Development Trust), which includes; Skills for Health, Skills for Justice, National Skills Academy for Health and SfJAwards.

    The post holder will play a leading role in the development of the group marketing strategy and its implementation. The post holder will be responsible for such key deliverables as; the development and delivery of corporate communication policies, brand and product marketing strategies, delivery plans, campaign management, product marketing, promotional materials, press, events/conferences and the development of content for the websites based upon national guidance and best practice.

    The post holder will provide specialist expert marketing advice to the Executive Team and Head of Sales & Marketing in the implementation and evaluation of all marketing and communication activity across the group.

    The post holder will provide direct line management to the following:

    • x 1 Product Marketing Manager
    • x 1 Website and Digital Manager

    This role is a member of the Business Development team within Skills for Health, making a significant contribution to the future success of the organisation.

    The holder of this senior position will (working to defined targets) be responsible for developing and securing new business opportunities for Skills for Health and for client relationship management in a defined area. They will be responsible for growing Skills for Health’s presence and customer base and its value to employers. Core responsibilities will include achieving agreed year-on-year new business and revenue targets through preparing and implementing business development plans and strategy consistent with Skills for Health corporate objectives.

    • Deliver agreed annual sales and revenue targets in terms of new business, in-year revenue and client retention;
    • Identify, develop and secure opportunities for Skills for Health to work with local health, justice sector and local government employers, consistent with our remit as a Sector Skills Council (SSC) and our corporate objectives;
    • Represent and promote Skills for Health locally in a manner consistent with our remit and responsibility as an SSC and our corporate objectives;
    • Assist the Executive Director in complying with requirements associated with our license as an SSC;
    • Be required to work with and influence decision makers - including Chief Executives, Directors, Senior Managers and Clinical Professionals across the health sector.

    The post holder must have extensive and demonstrable experience of operating in such a business sales environment and of developing relationships at a senior level. The post holder is able to obtain a comprehensive understanding of client needs and develop such relationships into revenue opportunities. They must exhibit excellent interpersonal skills with strong presentation skills to allow the effective communication of Skills for Health solutions and services. The post holder will need to deploy these skills to effectively influence, persuade negotiate and manage relationships.

    The post holder will be primarily responsible for maintaining Skills for Health’s existing e-learning Moodle platform as well as a suite of PHP web-based tools, enhancing existing functionality, fixing software bugs, and working with hosting providers to ensure the e-learning platform and other tools continue to run smoothly.

    Acting as the lead developer on a range of assignments within Skills for Health’s Technical Development Team, and working on a number of Agile projects through all stages of the of the software development lifecycle - from requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery.

    The post holder will advise the Technical development team on the strategic development of Skills for Health & Skills for Justice technical resources.

    There will on occasion be a requirement to work outside of normal office hours for essential tool/server maintenance.

    This post may be subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order ) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
