Musculoskeletal core competency framework

Health Education England (HEE) and NHS England have commissioned the development of a Musculoskeletal (MSK) core competency framework.  Development of the framework builds upon work previously undertaken by the national MSK Workforce Group and is due for completion by the end of 2017.

The MSK framework will set out the core competencies for healthcare workers to deliver high quality, consistent and person-centred care for patients presenting to a first point of contact with musculoskeletal conditions.  The framework will provide a standard structure and language in a multi-professional framework and enable greater consistency and portability in MSK core competencies.

A project management group including stakeholder organisations such as ARMA, HEE and NHS England will guide development of the framework.
